Easter Egg Hunt 2013

This morning was so nice - very warm and sunny, so we decided to take the kids to the Rec Department's Annual Easter Egg Hunt.  It's held at Coast Guard Hill, which is just around the corner from us now, so it made sense to walk.

Posing for a photo before the chaos begins

It was Liam's first time at an Easter Egg Hunt and Eva's last time since the age limit is 5.  We briefed the kids on sharing with others, and not being greedy.  It's too bad that other parents hadn't given their kids the same advice. Liam ended up with ZERO eggs; Eva only had a half dozen.  I asked Eva to share with Liam, so they'd each have a few.

Somehow in the next minute or so, Eva managed to spill the few eggs she had left and some older kids quickly scooped them up.  This resulted in a lot of tears, since now she had none. She couldn't understand why the "big kids" were so mean and stole her eggs.  Amanda was a kind big sister, and put her arm around Eva as they walked.

The best part was that Liam got to see the Easter Bunny and pose for a picture.  He really loved it!  He kept saying that the Easter Bunny was "soooo cute" and "Why is he wearing his pajamas???

Liam was positively THRILLED to see the Easter Bunny!
