They put him "on the fast track", in his words, and he left 30 minutes later with a 14 day course of antibiotics.
This was a good reminder that we need to stay vigilant and continue routine tick checks. We are pretty sure it can be tracked back to Jay's backyard, from 6 days earlier. Hopefully he caught it early enough and won't have any further symptoms or problems. Lyme disease is way too common around here, and I have heard of many people whose lives have changed as a result of a tiny, little tick.
The kids were concerned when they found out Daddy was headed to the Emergency Room, and worked together to make him a giant get well card. Luckily Dave was back at home in just a few hours and got to watch the end of a movie with the rest of the family, so it all ended well.
