Nature Hike and our close encounter with a deer

This morning, we decided to skip the gym and go for a family nature walk.

It was the perfect morning - sunny, warm, calm.... and unbelievably quiet.

We saw so many HUGE uprooted trees, and Dave said they were recent happenings that had not been there last fall.

About 10 minutes into our walk, Dave spotted a deer up ahead on the path.

I was so proud of the kids for staying completely quiet and not scaring it away.  I filmed for about 6 minutes... Here are the last 2 minutes of the video, as the deer got closer and closer to us.

Dad and Reda, you may recognize these  places.  The kids told us stories about hiking here with you last year, including all of the details like eating Twix bars at this very spot...and Eva falling backward off the bench.

I wonder if the deer was attracted to Eva's sparkly cap?
