Here are my photos from our Summer 2016 Road Trip.
All smiles and ready to go!
The first leg of our trip had us arriving in London, Ontario for one night.
We kept seeing the same tour bus throughout the day, on the highway and at rest stops along the way. We never did find out who it belonged to!
Several hours into the trip, and still going strong! These kids are GREAT travelers! No complaints here.
Going over the bridge into Albany, NY
We passed through Niagara Falls around dinner time, but didn't have time to stop.
We did a quick drive past the falls and then decided that we would spend a day there on the return trip home.
It took us about 20 minutes to get through Customs and the kids had fun with this motorcycle driver from CA, who they named 'Motorcycle Dude.'
For our first night, Dave had booked a really great hotel in London with a pullout couch, a small kitchenette, and a full complimentary breakfast buffet. After a 12 hour day of driving, we had a late dinner at Jack Astor's (poutine and burgers!) followed by a quick swim in the pool.

The next morning, we loaded up the car and made our way to Wisconsin. It was an easier, shorter day of driving, thank goodness. The kids entertained themselves by taking pictures of each other.
We arrived just in time for the hot beef dinner that Grandma Jo had prepared. We were all so happy to see her, and to be done driving. Liam kept saying that he wanted to live with Grandma.

The next morning, we checked into our lake house on Beaver Dam Lake. It was just perfect for us, and we were anxious to be out on the lake.
That afternoon, we had a sort of Open House for my family to come and visit, with the grill going all day. What a fun day!
The kids wasted no time in getting reacquainted with Taylor.
Enjoying Uncle Jared's grilled burgers for dinner
It was so cool to see all of the cousins getting along so well, even though we hadn't spent much time with them in the past five years. For Eva and Liam, they felt like they were meeting Ella and Ashlyn for the very first time.
One of the best parts of the day was catching fireflies with all of the kids and later sitting around the campfire.
Our first full day at the lake house was such a blast! We were really looking forward to all of the fun things we had planned for the upcoming ahead.
....To be continued....
