Eva's first bike & Liam's first bike ride

Last weekend while at a Tag Sale, I found the perfect bike for Eva. It was a little 12" bike with training wheels in the perfect girly colors, pink, blue and purple. It even had streamers and a purple bow tied to the handlebars. It was just calling Eva's name.

Eva lovesit! I have never seen her move as fast as she did when she scurried to find her bike helmet and test drive the bike for the first time.

She is still trying to get the hang of pedaling, and it's pretty hard to do that on our gravely surface in the parking lot. Dave sometimes takes the girls over to the church parking lot after dinner, where it's a lot easier to pedal.

Once she masters it and the weather warms up a bit, we're hoping to go down to the paved Cape Cod Canal and bike as a family.

In related news, Dave and Liam went on a boys' outing this morning and got Liam his first bike helmet.

Here they are, ready to ride to the dance studio to pick Amanda up from class...

(Check out that spiffy Muppets/Abbey Road t-shirt, a birthday gift from the kids.)

... and then Amanda is going to ride her bike all the way home. It's a few miles... I hope they know what they're getting into!
