Sunday was a beautiful day - warm, sunny and blue skies overhead.
We decided to make it a family day at the beach. The girls ran around gathering all of their beach toys and swimming suits, although we warned them that it wouldn't be warm enough to swim.
You'd think we'd have learned by now that kids have a higher tolerance for cold! I got as far as sticking my toes in the water before letting out a yelp and retreated back to the warm sand, but the girls were much braver.
Amanda made a beeline for the water right away, while Eva was content just digging a "pond" in the sand.
Eva eventually went into the water, but was shocked by a wave that soaked her. She came running out of the water, crying about the water that got in her mouth. She then curled up with a blanket and laid in the sand for a while, soaking up the sun.
Amanda, on the other hand, showed extreme bravery, and went in all the way up to her neck. A-ma-zing!!! I wouldn't have even done that on a dare.
Dave had Liam tucked safely in the Snugli, as they spent some "boy time" together. While this wasn't Liam's first trip to the beach, it was the closest he had ever been to the water and he really seemed to like the sound of the waves.
It sure was nice to have the beach to ourselves, because in just a few weeks when the tourists arrive, it will be an entirely different story.
