Sledding Fun!

Yesterday we walked over to the nearby sledding hill for some Saturday morning fun.

Surprisingly, we had the entire hill to ourselves!

Amanda went first. She had been there a few days earlier with Daddy, so she was practically a Pro.

As soon as Eva saw Amanda go down, she wanted a turn. And boy, did she love it!!!

After we had gone down a few times, we wandered over to another part of the hill but it was too icy... dangerously icy, even for Daddy.

So we trekked over to yet another hill, one with two slopes.

And I think we all agreed that was the best one of the day. Daddy and Amanda almost made it to the river!

I have many fond memories of sledding as a kid, and I'm glad my daughters are now getting old enough to enjoy it. It's such a great way to spend time as a family, and we're lucky to have good hills within walking distance.

Today we're going shopping for a bigger snowtube, maybe a two person one. It looks like the snow will be sticking around for a while, so we might as well make the best of it.

this brings back to many memories of doing the exact same thing as a kid!

When Amanda called and said she had been sledding, i thought she was referring to an earlier post.
i just read this now (3 a.m.) and
envy you the fun. I have always loved sledding going back to when we had sleds with runners.

The trek back up the hill must have been tiring for the girls.
They sure are good sports. I hope you'll have many more good days with snow--and sun would help, too.

That is wonderful. We used to sled every snowfall over at the Marshfield Country Club off Walnut and Acorn Streets. It was so fun. We'd trek over with anywhere between 4 and 9 of us.All with snow tubes. Sometimes we'd even play King of the Mountain in the sand traps (which were covered with tarps making it extra slippery and hard to win). Oh, man. good times... Good times...
